teaching and learning

The Hamlets nurtures girls in their most formative years, introducing them to the social aspects of mixing with other children and the beginnings of reading, writing and understanding numbers.

The school is always busy, with happy, spirited girls smiling with excitement as they explore their activities.

From the outset we stimulate and enthuse each pupil to explore a range of interests, which help to develop confidence and skills. And as the girls grow up together they support each other and form fond friendships.

Educational visits begin with nursery pupils and are a vitial part of our teaching and learning process.

The quality and professionalism of our staff means that your daughter is looked after by adults who are interested in what she does and says; who talk and listen to her; who ask questions that make her think; respond to her interests; praise her; and encourage her.

Teaching combines tried and trusted methods with the use of new communication technology and facilities, and is paced to keep the interest and enthusiasm of each girl.

By the time she leaves The Hamlets the foundations have been laid for independent study, an understanding of the world of today and her role within it, and the ability to solve problems.

The Hamlets girl leaves the school with a thirst for knowledge, the motivation to learn, and the confidence to succeed.
